“I am honored that so many conservative leaders have chosen to support our effort to ensure we continue to have a proven conservative voice in the state Senate.”
HOLIDAYSBURG, PA – Judy Ward, State Representative in the 80th House District and candidate for state Senate in the 30th District, today released a first round of endorsements for her Senate bid, which she announced just two weeks ago.
Members of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives whose districts are within or neighbor the 30th Senate district came together in support of Ward’s campaign; the 30th District that covers Blair, Cumberland (part), Franklin (part), Fulton and Huntingdon (part) Counties. Endorsing Ward are:
State Representative Jesse Topper (78th District)
State Representative Rob Kauffman (89th District)
State Representative John McGinnis (79th District)
State Representative Greg Rothman (87th District)
State Representative Paul Schemel (90th District)
“I am honored that so many conservative leaders have chosen to support our effort to ensure we continue to have a proven conservative voice in the state Senate,” Ward said. “These are leaders trusted in their communities and their support sends a strong signal to the voters that I will stand up for the values and principles they believe in.”
Ward, who currently serves in the state House, is well-known as one of the legislature’s most conservative voices. A strong supporter of pro-job, pro-2nd Amendment and pro-life policies, Ward’s record has, in the past: earned her the endorsement of the PA Chamber of Commerce PAC and support from the PA Farm Bureau; earned consistent A ratings from the NRA; and, garnered the support of the PA Pro-Life Federation.
“Judy Ward has shown time and again that she not only shares the conservative values of Pennsylvanians across our region, but that she is willing to be a strong and vocal leader on issues that matter,” said Representative Paul Schemel, speaking for the group. “As members of the legislature committed to moving forward a conservative agenda, we want someone in the Senate who will fight for that agenda, and Judy Ward is clearly the best choice.”
Ward was a key advocate for the recent passage of Senate Bill 3 to end abortions after 20 weeks. She was also a leader in the successful effort to defeat Governor Wolf’s liberal tax-and-spend proposals in each of the first two years of his term.
